Alesis tech support is supposed to be getting back to me with a solution, but it could be next week now before I hear anything, I got an email from the last night saying a tech would contact me in 24 to 72 hours not counting weekends and of course this is one of those really long weekends. I would try those out. Your post really made my day. I also has the same problem. Hi Everybody, Monday September 14, Alesis put a new set of driver on-line: Wednesday, October 7, 2: Let me know if you can not post attachment here.

I’m still trying to get the mixer to work, in Firewire mode, almost 8 months after I bought it, and then a new faster computer because he old one wasn’t fast enough and then it died last July anyway, then I had to wait 4 more months for a windows upgrade to Win 7, which did nothing to help, is in mu opinion worse than Vista, but today I’m looking around again for help, a solution, something, anything, and every store I checked has dropped this mixer from it’s product list, no longer available, discontinued, etc.
I can’t justify buying the license if I can’t use it. I too was chastised by phone tech support for upgrading to Win7.
Plus I’d email Alesis tech support and tell them that someone over there said no drivers are on the page. I seldom get upset with tech support – but this really set me off.
Find More Posts by howardcr Also I’m using the Alesis Windows 7 driver for the mixer. Results 1 to 3 of 3. It sound like it’s a known issue in the doc. I think the consensus is that Alesis products simply just don’t play well with Sonar.
[SOLVED] Alesis Multimix FireWire Firmware – Home Recording forums
I can’t speak for the Multimix stuff, but I have the Mastercontrol and it works multimiix. And working well I might add. This is going to make future work flows a lot slower than they would have to be if it wasn’t for this fault. Hope I was able to help.
Beyond this, my Alesis Multi-mix 8 Firewire is gathering dust and I’m really not happy about it.
Did you know that your browser is out of date?
I would also be sure to use the MultiMix drivers from this firmware update file I windoqs have newer XP drivers, but I doubt the firware update would work with them. The time now is I would doubt that it would be an issue with Au as it just works with whatever is presented to it by the OS. This is a little confusing, as there are numerous fireeire laid out and the precedure varies. There is a similar image to your first one in your last but one message that shows no sample rate and the unlocked warning icons.
It’s not the best solution I was hoping for but at least it’s better than what Alesis offered me today, to wait another multimlx on the off chance they could get their act together.
I’ve allready worte to Alesis and still wait for there responses. You shouldn’t firewkre using the WDM drivers since these depend on the Windows operating system for sending audio through to audio software like Audition. Haven’t received registration validation E-mail?
Not that I’ve multimid though so apologies if I’m wrong, but it’d be bizarre to say the least – mind you this is Alesis we’re talking about I was using it about 3 minutes after I installed the drivers and have not had any problems. If it’s rirewire the high pitched squeal then it’s the drivers or a latency issue or drop outs. Any help is appreciated. Many people familiar with this combination will be thinking “what a waste of time”. Your post really made my day.
Alesis finally replies, not with good news I finally got a reply, by email, from Alesis today, note this first that it was at their suggestion I upgraded to Win 7, because they told me it would not have any of the problems Vista had and would solve the driver issues mulrimix by itself.
MultiMix 8 Firewire on Windows 7 64bit – firmware updater?

You can install it and then select that driver in Audition – you can always switch back http: I would revert back to Vista, the Alesis guy hints at it now working for them, but I would lose several hundred Gigs of files, data, music, and video.
